Called Selden yesterday and they quoted me $800 plus tax out the door for four truck tires. After they did the 4 tires they said they had quoted me the wrong size tires that were on floor. However, those were the ones they installed on the truck. He said he got different ones from the back, but he didn't. I saw them put the floor tires on. Now they charged me $26.00 for each tire balancing when they said it was included on the phone. Banged me for an extra $250. Was not happy for second time now. I'm done with Mavis for good. Now you know why car repair places have a t!errible reputation. I ll go to Brian's gas station in Rocky Point from now on. He's honest, fair prices and has more referral business than he can handle. Stay away from Mavis. PS, they tried to sell me rear shocks when they were fine. Just to add insult to injury. PS, the owner called me next day to address the negative review I gave. Let me be clear I get no joy in writing a negative review on anyone. Mostly 99% of my reviews are very positive. I know reviews affect a business seriously. They said that they lost money on the deal. I do find that hard to believe if they changed the price from $847 to $1,119? Why would they reprice the deal from $847 to $1,119 to lose money? Not to make a point, but I was in the automobile business when I was young and my family are all auto mechanics So, I am familar with cars. The point I'm trying to make is I spent the last 37 years before I retired in broadcast sales retiring from the ABC NETWORK. I was the sales manager for most of the east coast. I always felt as a Disney employee to give people way more than their monies worth in business. If they really cared they would have offered some kind of partial credit for the entire episode. They did not. Not smart business. So, we agreed to disagree. I'm finished with my comment.
