  Staff was very knowledgeable and polite and explained the process and timeline to wait accurately. Also the facilities were comfortable and clean, excellent place to work on your laptop while you wait. Extra points for the free coffee

  I had the pleasure of using Safelite recently. Not only was it easy to schedule the appointment, the technician reached out as promised, when he was on his way. David was very professional and courteous. He explained everything he was going to do. The whole experience was stress free and easy. I highly recommend Safelite!!

  On November 18th, I contacted this Safelite AutoGlass location for an estimate to repair a crack in my windshield. The initial process went smoothly, and they sent an employee to complete the repair. All together it cost a little under $200 which wasn't too bad. However, just a few months later, on March 14th, the same crack spread significantly, forcing me to replace the entire windshield. I initially considered returning to the same shop, but they were charging about $300 more than the average price at local shops in Queens, so I decided to request a refund instead. To be completely honest about my experience, during the phone call I was a bit frustrated and questioned why they couldn’t simply evaluate the crack in my windshield through photos instead of asking me to bring the car in. Looking back, I understand that I may have been in the wrong for reacting that way, and if said person over the phone is reading this I apologize. I’m trying to be as fair and honest as possible in this review. That said, the way I was treated afterward was unacceptable. I was told to bring my car into the shop, which I did about a week later. When I arrived, the same employee who worked on my windshield in November examined it and claimed that it had “never been repaired.” He insisted there would be visible resin if a repair had been done, even though I showed him clear photos documenting the service. He proceeded to talk down to me in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. I was then told that a manager would contact me regarding whether a refund would be issued. It has now been two weeks, and I have received no follow-up. If you run a nationwide business, you should stand behind your services and take responsibility when they fail. Instead, I experienced poor customer service, a lack of accountability, and what feels like an attempt to take advantage of students in Stony Brook. While I acknowledge my own frustration during the process, treating a customer poorly and avoiding responsibility is also not acceptable. Also instead of giving the typical “sorry for letting you down” response, actually take action and resolve the issue. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.   Brought my car in for a windshield replacement, the windshield was fine but when I picked up my car one of the tires was 10 pounds low and there was a crack in my hub cap cover. Someone clearly hit a curb while driving it to recalibrate the vehicle. When I went back to the place to show them the damage they made up a fabricated story about that when I dropped of the car the tire needed to filled with air already (which is a total lie), and of course they claim they had nothing to do with it. Bottom line, accidents happen; man up and take responsibility for the damage you do to someone vehicle. It is very sad that this company did not do the right thing.
