Previously excellent service, but just disappointing now. Made an appointment 3 days ago for 8 AM today, just for an inspection, brake check, and tire rotation. Here at 7:50 AM, second person in the door. Called at 3 PM for an update, and they “haven’t gotten to it because they got too backed up.” Too backed up? There was one person in front of me, and I had an appointment 7 hours ago. I’m told they’re “getting it in now.” Walk to the shop at 4 PM. “We still haven’t gotten to it” because “we’re understaffed.” Staffed enough to do who knows how many vehicles since I dropped it off at 8 AM. Like I said, just disappointing. Will not be back.

I had a great experience at Mavis! I went in needing a tire patched and they got me taken care of super quickly—way faster than I expected. Rick, the manager, was awesome from the moment I walked in. He's friendly and makes an effort to make the front area feel welcoming and open to everyone. I especially appreciated that it felt comfortable, even for a woman coming in on her own, which can sometimes be intimidating at other shops. Definitely will be back here for any future tire needs. Thanks, Rick and team!

I set up an appointment for a NY state inspection and oil change, and showed up at the Oneida Mavis location at 0720 (they open at 0800), to ensure I would be first. Apparently the machine was down (they couldn't perform the inspection) but the helpful representative called the Rome location, and verified that they would honor the appointment at 10 AM. I SHOWED UP @ 0900, and the unhelpful representative refused to honor the appointment, and claimed that I wouldn't be served for several hours. Even though I had travelled upon THEIR assurance that my appointment would be honored, this was the result. I MAY patronize Oneida Mavis, but this taints Mavis as a company. If appointments won't be honored (particularly when a customer has to be redirected, and has to travel out of their way), THEN DON'T OFFER APPOINTMENTS. It's a bad look and bad practice.
