Adrian at this Mavis in Rockville Centre convinced me to cancel my other appointment at a full-service shop, saying he could match the competitor’s price, provide better tires for the same cost, and handle all the work I needed. Based on that, I cancelled my other appointment — a decision I regret. Here’s what went wrong: • The in-store quote was higher than what was discussed over the phone • Adrian promised an employee discount and help with rebate paperwork — neither happened. • I made it clear I needed additional work, but they couldn’t handle the emissions issue (no smoke machine) or the tire pressure sensor problem (no programming equipment). • There was confusion with my contact info in their system. They kept calling me by an unknown last name and I received several calls from different reps confirming my appointment (for the wrong times). • I asked them to save my aftermarket valve caps, but they threw them out. • They recommended shocks but couldn’t perform a multi-point inspection, which made me question how they were diagnosing anything. • Adrian wasn’t there when I arrived, and none of the promises made over the phone were honored. Lastly, the rims were filthy when they came out of the shop. If someone is paying over $1,000 for service, the least you can do is wipe off your mess (photo before and after cleaning my car). The visit was disorganized, misleading, and unprofessional. I should have stayed with the other full-service shop that could actually handle everything properly. This location might be fine for basic tire service, but I wouldn’t trust them for anything beyond that.
