He gave me a couple suggestions, talked me through a few things, and I really appreciated it! **Necessary addition/edit! Since I posted my initial review I have needed to stop in two more times to purchase a part to replace in my vehicle, as well as to ask a few more follow up questions. Between these two extra visits I not only ran into Richard again, who remembered me and everything I was needing help with from my first visit, but I also received a lot of help from Jodi (sp?) and Mark. Again, they were so helpful and patient and truly went above and beyond. In no way did they make me feel rushed or like I was asking too many questions. In fact, they provided me with more information and things to consider to help give me a well-rounded idea of how to handle what I was trying to figure out with my vehicle. I really appreciate how present they all were with me and the care they put into listening and explaining. People like this really make a difference and put those like myself at ease when they feel a bit out of their league and are looking for some help and a boost of confidence with something as significant as the vehicle they drive and depend on each day. Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
