- JCJoe CurraDec 23, 20201.0The staff is generally unpleasant, often rude to customers, and arrogant -- all with consistency. However, I'm primarily tired of coming here and having my time wasted for the sake of someone else's being inconsiderate, like standing in line in front of an employee who takes five minutes to address customers. I can deal with a bad personality if I'm getting everything I need efficiently. But, that's not the case, and it frequently isn't. It took me 20 minutes to pick up an alternator that was already ordered (the day before) and ready for pick-up. I should have been in and out. I was finally helped after an employee yelled about a customer, slammed a phone on the counter after, rudely, telling someone to hold, and then helping another customer who entered the store after me. Not everyone here is unpleasant or unprofessional, but the majority of my interactions with staff members (one glaringly in particular) here have been more a display of both characteristics than anything else. Rather than name the employee specifically, I'd sooner recommend going to a different Advanced location altogether. Not worth the stop outside of it being in a convienent location.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
