The first time I ever set foot into this store almost 5-6 years ago I was welcomed with open arms by Bruce and his team. Bruce is one of the best and hardest working employees I have ever met. Not only is he one of the most kind human beings I have ever come across, he is dedicated to always making sure I can find what I need. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
