I went into Monro Muffler/Brake & Service because I needed an oil change and I also told them about a noise I was hearing that I wanted them to look at. I have been going to Monro for many years and they have always been good in the past about informing me about potential problems I may have with my vehicles. I told them that I hear the noise the most when I am pressing the brake. The ABS light and the brake light would come on at the same time. After about thirty minutes, a technician came out and told me that my brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote and did the work. It wasn’t until after the work was done that I saw they did a synthetic oil change instead of the regular oil change I have always gotten for that vehicle (2013 Nissan Pathfinder). The synthetic oil change was more money. I went to the counter and I paid with my credit card. As the transaction was going through, I told him that it was not the amount he quoted me for the brake job. He stated that I forgot to add tax. I knew the tax rate wasn’t 20% so I had him look at it again. He found a mistake that he made and told me that he canceled the charge. He then had me swipe the card again. On my way home, I still heard the sound that I was hoping would be fixed after spending all that money. I kept going home because it was late in the afternoon and I just wanted to get home. I didn’t drive the car for the next two days. On the third day, I drove the car to church and heard the same sound when pressing the brake. I took it back to Monro for them to look at it. They told me that the subframe was rusted out and cracked and that the cost to repair it would be more than the vehicle is worth. I was immediately upset and voiced my discontent because I never would have gotten the brake job if they had properly determined the cracked subframe instead of the brakes. I contacted Monro and asked if they could reimburse me for the repair since the car is now only worth the price of scrap and they only responded that there is nothing they could do. Several days later, I was checking my credit card and I saw that there were actually still two charges from Monro. They never canceled the first charge like they said. It only got resolved until I kept calling them every day and they finally canceled the first incorrect charge several days later. I went in for a regular oil change and to fix the noise that I heard. Monro did not deliver on either of those but yet still charged me anyway. Please, please, please, take my advice and take your car someplace else if you want quality service.

Ordered some tires from tire rack for my daughter, they told her that their machines are old and might damage her rims if she still wanted the service, she said no,, who wants thier rims damaged, so she said she would go elsewhere and all of a sudden they do not have the tires or they weren't delivered 🙄.. now she has to file a claim, she is pregnant with bad tires. Terrible place.

I was truly disappointed in the way they are Scheduling appointments now.
I have been coming to Monroe for years.
I scheduled an appointment so I could be seen at scheduled appointment not having to wait for 2 hours because the new scheduling is ridiculous.
I would prefer to talk directly to The garage so that I don't have to talk to some ninny that doesn't know how to schedule appointments.
I may have to find somewhere else to have the work done on my cars.
I suggest you go back to the old way so you can talk directly to the manager of said garage.

I had a disappointing experience at Mavis Tire. I went in with a squeaking brake issue and was turned away because they said they were too busy.
Thankfully, Peter at Monro Auto took me right in. They inspected my car and found that I had no brake pads left, which could have been dangerous. Peter and Mike were professional, fast, and extremely helpful. They got the job done within an hour, and I was safely back on the road.
Big thanks to Peter and Mike at Monro Auto for the excellent service. I know where I’ll be going from now on.
