With the very cold weather that we have been experiencing lately I noticed that my vehicle didn’t seem to have the same “pep” it used to when I start it. So off to my local Advance Auto to have them check my battery. I was told that the battery could use a charge, but in my opinion with it being 8 years old I don’t know how much longer it would last. So I decided to get a new battery. Donald the Store Associate was very helpful. He installed the battery in no time and I was on my way, another happy customer.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
