How car rental should be; the nicest, most genuine greeting, with friendly eye contact from the outset. Everything slick, easy to understand, efficient, clean. Wonderful. Mike, and indeed all the staff, are an object lesson in how American customer service is still the best!

My boyfriend rented a car, and returned it on 4/23. He was picking up a new rental as we needed it for a couple more days while his car is repaired. He left a bag in the car, and returned to get it. After retrieving the bag, he discovered my ear rings were missing. An employee took the bag out of the car, went in the bag, and took some items out. He then put some items back in the bag, and hung the bag on a hook outside. He did not take the bag inside, or to a supervisor as my boyfriend's work badge and utility belt were also in the bag. My boyfriend called the cops, and I am pursuing this matter legally. Do not rent from them as their employees are thieves!

The location at JFK is horrible. They “lose” reservations then when you get to the desk the price is 2x what it said online. I reserved a BMW $400+ and they tried to sell me a Ford at the desk for MORE! I believe they tried to play me cause my flight was from ATL but they don’t realize I’m BORN BK and know GAME when I hear it!!! Shame on SIXT. Waited a damn hour plus for some BULL and hidden fees!

We are visiting from France and we were truly impressed by the quality of service. The manager who assisted us was incredibly kind, professional and very understanding. He went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The whole process was easy, stress-free, and very pleasant thanks to him.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience with SIXT was very disappointing.
At pickup, we were given a supposed “upgrade”, which we actually had to pay extra for — in reality, it felt more like a downgrade, and it seemed there were no other cars available. Unfortunately, the vehicle we received was not in good condition: very low tire pressure, visible exterior damage, (and later during the drive )transmission that was shifting roughly. During the drive, the car also indicated that a service would soon be due.
This caused ongoing stress and concern for us throughout the rental. An upgrade should improve the experience, not make it worse.
Shortly after pickup, we already contacted customer service about these issues and initially received a discount as a resolution. However, after noticing further problems with the vehicle and replying to continue the discussion, we never received any response — despite multiple follow-ups.
Overall, this was not the level of quality or reliability we expected. A vehicle in this condition should never be rented out, let alone presented as an upgrade. This experience has significantly damaged our trust in SIXT.
