  I went in a month ago to mount and balance a new tire. It was done quickly, but I could not see them doing it. When I got it back, I could see that the old weight had not been moved, meaning that they didn't balance the tire. Since I didn't have a picture from before the mounting, I couldn't prove it. But I won't trust them any more.

  I had a terrible experience at Mavis in Great Neck. In March 2026, they told me I needed many repairs and pressured me into paying over $3,000. I also provided my own full synthetic oil and filter from Costco for an oil change, which they charged me for. A few weeks later, my car started making noise. Another mechanic checked it and confirmed the oil had NEVER been changed. The oil was extremely dirty and almost burned out. Their receipt even says an oil change was needed, proving Mavis did not do the work and kept the oil and filter I provided. When I went back to Mavis, they denied everything. This is dishonest and unacceptable. I am filing complaints with the Attorney General, BBB, and Consumer Affairs. Please be careful with this location, especially the technician who worked on my car.

  I called to get a price on new tires and they quoted me a price over the phone. When I came to drop off the car, it was quoted as $50 higher. According to the person working, they said well that’s the price and he can’t do anything about the price difference. It just felt like a scam but I needed my tires changed so I just had it done…

  I made an appointment at Mavis Discount Tire, 200 Northern Blvd, Great Neck for 4:00pm on 3/25/26 to buy 4 new tires and have them installed. I left for almost an hour, but when I came back the car hadn't been in the shop yet. An appointment apparently doesn't mean anything to them. My car wasn't ready until 5:48pm. They then tried to sell me a dealership warranty for my new tires, and refused to give me manufacturer warranty information and card. Altogether pretty sleazy in my opinion.

  Service was great, definitely recommend!! I called ahead for a tire change, and right off the bat they were very kind and efficient over the phone, providing transparent pricing. When I come in, Cliff at the front desk was great. I was greeted with quick service, kindness, and full transparency on how long it will take, pricing, and even advice on how to prevent my specific tire issues in the future. Will definitely be back. Thank you!!!
