  Came here for an NY state inspection. They told me I needed four new tires and all new brakes. I knew that couldn’t be right because I had just replaced a tire and had the rear brakes and calipers changed within the last month. They then came back and said I needed one new tire and only front brakes. Way to immediately lose all trust in the first interaction. I won’t be back.

  John and Dalia at the front desk were super helpful and assisted me in figuring out what exactly I needed and got me in and out in less than 20 minutes, came in to swap my spare on and patch my tire, Christian swapped my spare on quickly and without a problem. Great service would highly recommend this location for anyone needing tire services, will definitely be coming back in the future!!!

  Absolutely outstanding experience at Mavis in Cortland Manor! From the moment I walked in, the team was professional, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The Manager John went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled perfectly his leadership really shows in how smoothly the whole operation runs. The service was fast, honest, and top quality. It’s not every day you find a shop that combines great pricing with even better customer care. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy service. 5 stars all the way!

  Wasted my time. Came in for a simple wheel alignment and waiting around the area for 4 hours without a call. Just to come to the store and be told there was a mistake and someone else was called about my car needing additional work. So not only did they not do my wheel alignment but they wasted hours of my time. They took my phone number at the front desk so I really don’t understand the mistake. Really disappointing experience.

  I had a terrible experience with Mavis Discount Tire, and I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. I brought in my Acura with about 25 days left before inspection. I was upfront about everything, including the check engine light. They even gave me the code: “insufficient piston valve clearance.” Despite knowing this, they reassured me they would get my vehicle ready to pass inspection. They convinced me to spend nearly $1,200 on 4 new tires, an alignment, and tie rods. After the work, the car did ride smoothly—but that wasn’t the real issue. When I returned about a week before my inspection deadline to address the engine code, I was suddenly told, “That’s not the type of work we do.” That’s where the problem is. They knew from the beginning that this was beyond their scope, yet they still pushed me to spend money on repairs that would not help my car pass inspection. At no point did they advise me to take the car to a proper mechanic for a full diagnosis first. Because of their lack of honesty, I ran out of time and had to go to a real mechanic—only to find out the repair would cost over $4,000. I was advised the car wasn’t even worth fixing and should be junked. So now I’m out $1,200… and I had to junk my car—with brand new tires on it. To make matters worse, when I asked for my old tires back so I could at least recover some value, I was told they no longer had them. But they were more than willing to sell me used tires for $79 each. That’s unacceptable. I feel lied to and taken advantage of. Customers deserve honesty, not sales tactics that push unnecessary work while ignoring major issues. Had they been upfront, I could have made a smarter decision and avoided wasting money on a vehicle that wasn’t worth saving. I will never return here and strongly recommend others think twice before trusting them. I’d rather go to a dealership or a trusted mechanic who is honest about what actually needs to be done. What really concerns me is that after sharing my experience with people familiar with this location, I was told that this kind of upselling behavior has been noticed before. Based on my experience, I can believe it. I will never return.
