- BUBeks USep 9, 20251.0This place has horrible customer service and be careful of parts you buy from them. It is not worth the trouble. Just get your parts directly from a dealer or reputable online shop. I got 2 front rotors online for my vehicle two years ago and the rear ones from Advanced Auto last year. The ones I got from Advanced Auto have rusted and almost cracked in less than a year. I went to the store to make a complaint, the dude just dismissed me and I was talking to me as if I am dumb. He told me we live in NY parts are going to get rusted. I tried to tell him that the ones I got 2 years ago show no sign of rust and the OEM I used before lasted more than 5 years without rust. One thing I know for sure is that I am not getting any part at Advanced Auto again. I just returned home and ordered online. If I had an Acura dealership close to me, I'll just go to Acura and get my parts.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
