I booked an appointment in advance for today (10/29/25) at 4:00pm via the Mavis website. I selected 4 new tires that according to the website were “always in stock” and quoted at $101 per tire (x4). My 8yr old daughter and I drove over 30 minutes to the Canandaigua location with a donut since I encountered a flat a few days ago. I called in advance today a few hours prior to the appointment to inquire about roughly how long the wait time was. I was told typically ~1hr to 1hr and 15 minutes, which I was totally fine with. I get there at 4:00 and dropped my car off to the front desk person whose name was Jeff. Fast forward an hour and a half later I get a phone call from Jeff (5:35pm) thinking “oh great my car is ready!” However, he proceeds to tell me that they don’t have the tires in stock AND they had not done any work to the vehicle. Shocked and baffled at what I was hearing I said “well do you have other tires in stock?” (The website also said they had “always available” tires starting at $66 ) He said the only set of 4 tires they had in stock were $169 each, which was way out of my budget. Not to mention Jeff had a pretty sluggish “I don’t care” tone about the whole thing. I was pretty irritated at this point but I work in the service industry and my kid was with me so I was trying very hard not to be short or rude. Since he was obviously helpful, I asked Jeff for a corporate number to call which he provided and walking back to the store I called the Mavis corporate office. The woman I spoke with listened to me and put me on hold to call the Canandaigua location. I thought something would be resolved - If they would have simply matched the price of the tires I originally selected I would have waited longer and paid despite the huge disappointment and my time being wasted. However both Jeff and the woman at corporate said there’s nothing they can do, I’d have to try to call the “manager” tomorrow. I decided at that point it wasn’t worth it and they didn’t deserve hundreds of my hard-earned dollars. I booked the appointment in advance, called ahead, waited almost 2 hours just to wind up going home with nothing, car still on a donut, driven much more than 50 miles or what is deemed “safe.” Needless to say this business lost over $600 and a customer. 0/10 do NOT recommend.
