Feb.10/2026 after removing ice and snow from my car I discovered a long crack through heated wiper park area that is designed to melt the snow off the wind shield. In one spot inside the glass a small piece of heating wire bubbled up and created the damage. I went to Safelite branch in Brooklyn that served my car before. At that time I did not know that I am covered by warranty , that Safelite covers such repairs since it was not damaged by any forcible actions and per their declared "nationwide lifetime warranty policy covers against defects material and workmanship". I was not aware of this policy and asked how much will cost to replace the windshield. Four or five workers examined the crack and everyone came to a conclusion that it is a stress crack and therefore should be covered by warranty policy. An appointment was scheduled . When I came for service I was informed the the new delivered glass came scratched and I need to reschedule the appointment. No problems . I came at the arranged time waited for an hour and a half and saw that the windshield for my car was delivered. All of a sudden a person came out from the shop and started to inspect my car again . When I asked him what happened he said that he thinks ? the windshield was damaged when I changed the wipers and I have to pay for the new glass . I explained that they were changed a long time ago, that December 4/2025 I passed an inspection at the dealer shop and I would never ever pass an inspection with damaged glass. I also told him that when I came to schedule the appointment and when I came the second time and the new glass was scratched my windshield was examined again and again. I asked him for a business card , who he was , name and position. He said that he has no business card , that he will not reveal his last name , his name is John and the he is a manager but from a different shop. When I mentioned that four or five workers checked my car and declared that it is a stress crack he became offensive said that he is the only person who knows that type of business , not his workers ( I don't understand why to keep worthless workers on payroll )and start almost pushing me out from the parking lot. I think that he saw in me an older man and an easy target. I did not want to drive with the damaged glass and told him , ok, replace it , I will pay and after that I will file a claim in court of law against the company. He became enraged and told me that now he does not want my money and business . I did not want any escalation and left. I filed a complaint with the main office , submitted all available at the time documents and videos. The main office advised me to make another appointment with a different Safelite shop. I followed the instruction and made an appointment because don't want to breach the policy , but not sure at all if a shop from the same company will be fair and impartial if it gets instruction from the company what to do . But I hope that not everyone is so crooked as this " manager John" . Yet in preparation of possible court hearing I went to an independent shop and of course they stated in a written statement that it is inside the glass damage , has nothing to do to any wrong use or forcible actions. If it will be necessary I will go to another independent shop to get a written statement. Yes, it is not free for me and I have to pay for the time spent to inspect my car , but at this point I don't care .I will sue Safelite for every dollar I need to spend on replacement and examination by independent shops. And since in 2025 Safelite paid out $31000000.00 to settle legal cases for fraud , bad parts . etc, I will add one small case too. Many small cases will pile up to a substantial amount of money. Crooked people must be out of business. I am not looking for special treatment , I just want to be treated with normal respect and to deal with a respectable company that stays behind their policy and product .

Horrible experience with Safelite. If I could give zero stars, I would. Safelite has tortured me for weeks just to get the original glass that my insurance had approved they were just continiuously ordering the wrong part for my Mercedes Eqs . I had to do ALL the work between Geico and Safelite, basically acting as the middleman and doing their job for them. After all the back and forth, all the delays, all the stress I finally show up to my appointment today, and they casually tell me they don’t even have the diagnostic tool for my car. How is that not in your system? Why didn’t anyone check that before wasting my time for weeks? How do you schedule appointments and order parts without knowing you can’t even do the job? It’s ridiculous and unprofessional. The whole process has been a complete disaster from start to finish. Safelite seriously needs to get their communication, their equipment, and their customer service together. Absolutely unacceptable.
