- PMPeter MianoDec 15, 20251.0I brought my car in for an oil change and inspection and on my way home my heat shield came loose and started dragging on the ground. I very slowly brought my car back to the shop and they took the loose piece off and told me it was fixed. When I pointed out that I saw the mechanic take the piece off and set it on the shop floor they said it was too damaged to put back on and they wouldn’t replace it because it’s just the heat shield and I don’t need it. Regardless of whether a heat shield is “necessary” to the car I would like it if my car came back from a simple oil change with all of it’s original parts!
