- MSMisti SwitchessJan 24, 20261.0My battery died this morning and I went here to ask if they could simply test my battery. The response was, “well usually we do…”I asked what the issue was and they said it’s cold outside… I said yes, which is why my battery needs tested. There were two men working and they looked at each other and almost started arguing over who was going to do it. I left. I’m not dealing with people not wanting to work when I’m about to drop $300 in your store and I’ve spent thousands there in the past. Two full grown men who are too scared of some weather. This is NY. Grow up.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
