Nick Ghelarducci. Everyone has read or heard at least once in their lives, "It's not the car, it's the salesperson you're buying." I've truly never believed that until we met Nick! We had to arrange the transaction long distance, because it's nearly 6 hour round trip drive to come fetch the Sorento, but suffice it to say, if it's Nick, this statement about what you're really buying is true! We had a great salesperson at a competing store and a better deal on paper, but Nick was straightforward and no-nonsense from the first call.
His self-confidence came through the phone and I literally melted and concluded, "We HAVE to buy from Nick, no matter what" when I heard his voice, tone, confidence, style. NOW I'm a believer, you really do *buy* the salesperson.
I literally felt sorry for the salesperson in CT who had the better car and the better deal and put so much energy way after the dealership was closed, helping us decide to buy that one in CT.
Had Nick not called the next morning, I'm 100% positive we would have bought the one in Ct. This is meaningful because personality REALLY DOES MATTER. Personality, style and knowledge CAN make or break a "tie".
Ultimately, it's a total package you're buying, yet it all starts with that very first person. Trust in the people (EVERYONE at Destination Kia have been top notch) matters too, and we were so thankful also that Josh was willing to review the warranties in advance so a "snap decision wouldn't be needed when we picked up the Kia."
Anyway, if car dealerships wanted a training model of how to close more clients, Nick is the model. I'm a writer on the side, and will be writing a blog called, "Be like Nick" I'm not kidding!
When we picked up, everything was ready, loan was arranged, Nick called our insurance and got that all set with the lienholder, etc. and he caught every detail We're not easy to work with. Friendly, yes, we're friendly, but wanted so many details. Nick never heaved a heavy sigh or showed impatience. AMAZING! GO NICK!
Thank you Destination Kia for hiring a great team. That is NOT easy. So whoever also gets thanks for keeping Nick around, thank you to those people too!
Oh yes, so the used Kia: brand new tires, service records are great, clean as a whistle. Yay for that too. May this Sorento serve its purpose for another 10 years. YAY!
