    Nick Ghelarducci. Everyone has read or heard at least once in their lives, "It's not the car, it's the salesperson you're buying." I've truly never believed that until we met Nick! We had to arrange the transaction long distance, because it's nearly 6 hour round trip drive to come fetch the Sorento, but suffice it to say, if it's Nick, this statement about what you're really buying is true! We had a great salesperson at a competing store and a better deal on paper, but Nick was straightforward and no-nonsense from the first call. His self-confidence came through the phone and I literally melted and concluded, "We HAVE to buy from Nick, no matter what" when I heard his voice, tone, confidence, style. NOW I'm a believer, you really do *buy* the salesperson. I literally felt sorry for the salesperson in CT who had the better car and the better deal and put so much energy way after the dealership was closed, helping us decide to buy that one in CT. Had Nick not called the next morning, I'm 100% positive we would have bought the one in Ct. This is meaningful because personality REALLY DOES MATTER. Personality, style and knowledge CAN make or break a "tie". Ultimately, it's a total package you're buying, yet it all starts with that very first person. Trust in the people (EVERYONE at Destination Kia have been top notch) matters too, and we were so thankful also that Josh was willing to review the warranties in advance so a "snap decision wouldn't be needed when we picked up the Kia." Anyway, if car dealerships wanted a training model of how to close more clients, Nick is the model. I'm a writer on the side, and will be writing a blog called, "Be like Nick" I'm not kidding! When we picked up, everything was ready, loan was arranged, Nick called our insurance and got that all set with the lienholder, etc. and he caught every detail We're not easy to work with. Friendly, yes, we're friendly, but wanted so many details. Nick never heaved a heavy sigh or showed impatience. AMAZING! GO NICK! Thank you Destination Kia for hiring a great team. That is NOT easy. So whoever also gets thanks for keeping Nick around, thank you to those people too! Oh yes, so the used Kia: brand new tires, service records are great, clean as a whistle. Yay for that too. May this Sorento serve its purpose for another 10 years. YAY!

    The charge for what was done on my vehicle to day was outrageously high and i consider it price gouging. Things that were supposed to be included in the price were added to the invoice and added substantially to the final bill. Price totally too much for what was done. Not happy with the service department. Definitely would not recommend to others. Update The manager called me and we talked. He agreed to reimburse me the difference between what I thought I ordered and what was charged. I was very pleased to get that call and appreciated the adjustment to the service charge. I was pleased with the outcome and the response from Kia.

    I called around 430pm on a Tuesday to ask if they had a specific interior color of a vehicle on the lot so I could see it in person. The woman on the phone assured me they did and would have a salesmen pull one up for an appointment between 530pm and 6. I got there around 545pm. I had to drive an hour to see it and what do you think happened? Yes you guessed it....no vehicle pulled up with the interior and no vehicle on the lot with the interior I wanted to see. Then they proceeded to lie to cover a lie by trying to tell me they sold it that day. You don't sell a car and have it off the lot in the hour it took me to get there! Pretty sure lying to customers is not the way you should want to try to start a business transaction. How about a check in the mail for the gas and the time it cost me to come down and be lied to. I'm sure the Attorney General would like to hear about these tactics and dishonesty. I will never do business with this place in my lifetime and will discourage anyone I can from even driving on the lot. Since I see about 80 people a week I'm sure spreading the word won't be difficult.

    I like the rep that typically schedules me for my service appointments however the techs/mechanics that provide the service are not customer satisfaction focused and are not thorough. They don’t go the extra mile at all. I went in for an oil change and battery installation and to my surprise they did wash my car and that was nice, however they didn’t put air in my tires and the low tire pressure light was on not did they do a light vacuum of my vehicle floor. I’m giving 3 stars because it’s a “fair” service if they can provide customer service and service performance through the lenses of “customer satisfaction and performance excellence” -vs- “just getting the job done”, they’d be a 5 star service department for sure!

    I am starting my review for Destination Kia before the visit to the dealership tomorrow 3/20/26. I have communicated this week with Destination via email and I have been visiting competing carmakers dealers all week, going on test drives and getting a feel for each one of those places. I purposely left Destination Kia for last despite it not being the closest Kia dealership to where I live and in fact there are two others that are closer but because my co-workers couldn’t say enough good things about their own experiences with this dealership. I will give them the chance to earn my business. One co-worker said they already bought five vehicles from this dealership and have plans to buy many more. This week I have looked at Chevy, Ford and Toyota vehicles and have a complete feel for those cars and the dealerships vibe. I do not like the car buying process and absolutely don’t want to have a feeling of being taken advantage of so I am hopeful that Destination Kia will score a home run for me in product, price and dealership vibe and I can close the deal tomorrow! I will post again about my experience after tomorrow’s visit. I gave this review 5 stars based entirely on the interaction so far. Update 2/20/2026 As a follow up to my previous pre-dealership review I wanted to say that without a doubt after all of the years of buying cars I was blown away by my experience today at Destination Kia. They have exceeded all of my expectations. Jay was my sales consultant. I highly recommend Jay for his friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable and patient demeanor that made the car buying / leasing experience comfortable and stress free. I never once felt pressured or rushed throughout the process. The finance office tends to get a bad reputation but I’ve got to say that Juan did an outstanding job! You wont feel stressed if you see him. I have to apologize because there were so many people involved and on the sidelines that helped today but unfortunately I can’t recall their names. From the manager to the folks who got my new car ready…You are amazing. The dealership is easy to get to with easy access to I-90. Everyone I encountered genuinely seemed friendly and outgoing. I did a lot of shopping with multiple brands and even bypassed two other Kia dealerships because my co-workers highly recommended them and I AM HAPPY they did! Total time in dealership today was from 10:00am-3:50pm. This time was more around me asking so many questions and not a delay in anything they did. I WILL be back for my next car and if you’re in the market for a car I suggest you visit Destination Kia!
