I had rented a mid size suv for my trip over the Sierra mountains but when I got to the alamo counter they had no mid size suvs . They said I could have a mini van. Nope thats not going to work I said. The weather was getting bad. So as an alamo insider I was offered a Chevy Tahoe SUV which is like a truck . Exactly like im use to driving . So I took it had a great driving experience over the Sierra mountains to my destination at the Sacramento Airport.
No one at the counter even though I called and was assured someone would stay.
Everything was well managed after that. I was reimbursed for taxi and the staff was very nice. Just made things inconvenient having to return to the airport the next morning.
Ask if a deposit is needed it or if debit card method of payment is ok, before you book your car rental on line.
Once again Alamo have excelled at providing a great vehicle for us for a month rental
We came looking for snow tires and achieved snow tires on a white Jeep Rubicon
What a great little vehicle for the things we needed to do
Tahoe , Park City, Breckenridge , Vail , Keystone, Moab , monument Valley , Grand Canyon , Death Valley and Tahoe again ..
The vehicle and price were great and I would recommend Rusty and his team to any prospective tube car renter

The vehicle we got (Jeep Wagoneer L) was clean, comfortable and plenty big enough for 5 of us and our luggage. After our last trip driving from Reno to Tahoe through a blizzard we knee jerk opted to upgrade to an AWD vehicle which ended up being a waste of money (it was dry, with temps in the 50s), as was opting for the prepaid gas, since we ended up walking everywhere end really only used the car for to from the airport and a quick trip to the supermarket. Car rentals have gotten stupidly expensive in general and this was no exception, but the car itself and the rental/return process were just fine.
