"The Worst Experience of My Life - Avoid WW Williams at All Costs" Took my Humvee into the WW Williams location for a minor oil leak and to diagnose and repair the Red Dot AC unit. $2950.00 later it is delivered to my residence in San Diego. Takes 15 minutes to start and then barely runs belching out white smoke, a sign of excess fuel or antifreeze in the chamber. Call WW Williams and the branch manager say there is no warranty because I gave them an aftermarket part to install. Funny thing is that the part is an original piece from the engine that I had them send off for a rebuild. $2500 in labor for replacing a valve cover gasket, install rebuilt fuel armature, and wire up a new switch for the AC. I had it trailered to Predator Inc. in Vista, CA to get it running the way it was dropped off. I haven't received that bill yet. With $1200 in transport fees, I have spent at this point over $4100.00. This experience is only part of the story, but it would take six pages to explain it. I cannot believe the incompetence of both techs and management. WW Williams hasn't been a family company for years, owned by a private equity company. If you are not familiar with private equity entities, google it. They trim staff, max out costs, load company with debt and then let it try to swim. Private Equity are people with too much money looking for companies or industries where they can at least triple their investment. PE is why dentists in chains, veterinarians, and storage companies are so expensive. Please save your money and go to a shop that is transparent about costs and policies.
