- GOG OnsoGOct 13, 20252.0First of all, I had called prior to me showing up to make sure that the battery I needed for my car was available and the “free install” service would be provided. Once I got there mechanic started project and then proceeded to show me how to do some of it and left all his tools with me and basically had me do it myself and didn’t come back until mid to late install to finish helping and didn’t even know how to change the battery for my type of car and complained the whole time. Front desk lady was sweet the only reason I gave 2 stars.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
