- CEC EFeb 13, 20261.0Went for an emissions inspection a couple of weeks ago based on positive reviews on here. BIG MISTAKE. The staff, mostly young kids, have an annoyed, unfriendly attitude from the moment they point at where you should park your car. They ask you to spell your name and last name (mine are Hispanic, the staff is also mostly Hispanic), I spelled it using "s as in Sam, p as in Pete" cues and I saw they still got it very wrong when I had to go pay. They also took about 30 minutes for a very simple emissions inspection, there was only one other vehicle being serviced at the time, but my biggest complaint is the cost. While other places charge between $20.00 and $25.00 for an emissions testing, the total cost for it at this Jiffy Lube was almost $40.00!! For an emissions inspection, they include a ridiculous $1.67 for "shop supplies", whatever that means. Maybe all the money they overcharge for this simple inspection should be used by the owner to train employees on how to have a positive, friendly attitude with customers, and how to pay attention to how customers spell out their name and last name to them (the employee who took my car in when I arrive was not the only one with spelling issues; a different employee who processed my payment when the inspection was done and gave me my receipt also didn't pay attention to how I was telling him my last name was spelled). Also, 30 minutes for an emissions inspection that takes 5 minutes in other places is an excessive amount of time, especially considering how much this place charges for it.
