- HDhave a happy dayMar 2, 20265.0Management of Advanced Auto Parts, Rt. 46, Totowa, NJ Re: Recognition of Kevin Hello, Kevin is the best service representative I ever encountered, I was pulled over by the police and they indicated my brake lights were out as well as tail light, they let me go, with a warning, I quickly went over the advance auto on rt 46 in Totowa, and told Kevin and his assistant the story, Kevin was helping many people but he said for to hold on he can help me, after he was free he came outside and helped me ID the light issues, he then went into inventory and found the parts, I purchased them, I asked him his recommendation as what next to do, as the dealer would have charged me $$ to fix the issue, Kevin said hang on a minute, he then went and got his tools and instructed me what to do, he was teaching me something I knew nothing about, I pulled my car up near the door, and he worked with me step by step and within 5 minutes I was done, Kevin saved the day, he is not only an ambassador for advanced auto parts but an instructor as well. He also signed me up as a member. If it wasn't for Kevin, I would have been at the dealer for 2 hours and at a cost of hundreds probably. Kevin's expertise and professionalism is unmatched, he is a valuable representative, I hope he is promoted. Due to Kevin's help, I am a returning customer. TY Tim D.

Andy went out of his way to get the correct wiper, install it, and clean the remaining snow off of my car. Service like this is very rare. They will be my first stop from now on.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
