Took care for oil change, oil started leaking. Took car back and employees kept insisting it was due for an oil change even though it was before 5000 miles. Please do not get your car serviced here.

Terrible service at Mavis in Ridgewood. I called before going in — they told me the wait would be about an hour. I even asked specifically if they could handle an F-150 truck, and they said yes. When I got there, suddenly the wait became 1.5 to 2 hours. I decided to stay and wait anyway. After sitting there for 3 full hours, they finally tell me the balance machine “can’t read my wheels.” Really? You advertise you can handle trucks but can’t even check that before wasting people’s time? Absolute lack of professionalism, zero communication, and no respect for customers’ time. Lost 3 hours of my day because of pure incompetence. Never coming back here and I suggest others don’t waste their time either.

This review is long overdue, it initially is a Mavis @ Ramsey experience, but then became a Mavis @ Ridgewood experience. I would not recommend any Mavis shops. I purchased tires back in August of 2024. The two tires have been a problem from day one. Always losing air and I am constantly filling them with air. It's very annoying that I have to do this all the time. Alex who no longer is the manager at this location told me that it was my shocks and struts. I agreed to have the work done only because the year prior I was told that my shocks should be replaced at a different Mavis location. I did not have any signs of shocks going bad. They also overcharged me, $1700, and without an alignment. This is not a truck its a Toyota Camry. I was reading some comments about why any one would associate tires losing air with needing new shocks and struts. For instance ... " So suspension components can cause tires to lose air? That’s a new one. I almost spit out my coffee". Can anyone explain this Mavis technician’s reasoning behind his diagnosis. It's sad that people we trust with our cars are more about profit than doing the right thing. Integrity is rare, scrutinize and question everything. This did not fix my tire problem! Now my car is squeaking when I make hard turns ever since the shocks and struts were replaced. But the mechanic does not seem to hear what I hear. Unfortunately I have to address this now and go to a different location. CONTINUATION of my experience........ only because people should know who they are dealing with. Mavis in Ramsey told me that I need new ball joints too. I was not getting any signs. This was told to me while I was having tire problems, expressed above. They said Mavis in Hackensack is qualified to replace the ball joints and would do the job for $500. I never went through with it, I went to the Mavis in Ridgewood, NJ and had them take a look. The guy said yes, I need new ball joints but it will cost me $1700. I walked away shaking my head. I have been to 3 master mechanics and all of them including friends who have a lot of experience in cars all told me that my ball joints are fine. Not to mention, I finally did find a mechanic who addressed the loss of air in my brand new tires. It literally was the air valve stem, diagnosed within 15 mins, it was corrosion/damage and was corrected for $32. My tires have not leaked since. What a circus, no one should have to be bull dozed by shady practices, Mavis you need to instill integrity at your shops, stop taking advantage of people and or woman because you think you can. Fortunately I have found two great reliable and respectful auto mechanics and will never look back. They are very rare and are treated as a diamonds in the rough. You may as well be a Toyota dealership, you operate the same way.
