  Finding a trustworthy car service can be stressful, but Mavis in Raritan completely changed that for me. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, respected, and genuinely cared for. Instead of feeling rushed or confused, I felt heard. They took the time to really listen to my concerns and treated me like a person, not just another appointment on the schedule. The team was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. That honesty and transparency meant so much to me — especially when it comes to something as important as my car and my safety. I never once felt pressured or taken advantage of. When I got my car back, I could immediately feel the difference. It drove smoother, quieter, and better than it had in a long time. Knowing my vehicle was handled with care and attention gave me real peace of mind. That feeling alone is priceless. What truly sets this place apart is the heart behind the service.   I had a great experience with TY at Mavis Discount Tire. He helped me change my license plate after I moved from New York to New Jersey, which made the whole process much easier for me. I really trust this chain store because they are professional and reliable. They work hard to serve the community, and their customer service attitude is excellent. Highly recommended!

  I had an excellent experience here. TY was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. He explained everything clearly, made sure I understood my options, and got the work done quickly without any pressure. The service felt honest and efficient, and the whole visit was smooth. I really appreciate TY going above and beyond to make sure my car was taken care of. Highly recommend asking for him if you come in!

  A-OK I purchased four new tires. Check everything well after service. Fast but slapdash. Pros: 1) Courteous staff. I had questions and each staff member I interacted with was polite and professional. 2) Fast. I ordered four new tires online on Sunday afternoon and the tires were delivered to the store and installed the next day. 3) Network of locations is large. I will be able to get service in many areas of the Northeast. 4) When I brought problems to the attention of the staff, they addressed my concerns. Cons: 1) I had problems during my purchase, installation and service of new tires. a) The Mavis Discount Tire computer system does not display the Temperature rating or Traction rating of new tires. I needed to use a secondary internet source to find the tires I wanted with the Temperature and Traction ratings I preferred. b) Prices are higher for walk-in customers; internet prices are lower. I purchased the tires on the Mavis Discount Tire web page when the staff member at the business provided a higher price per tire than the internet price for Mavis Discount Tire. c) The internet price did not include all costs. Fees were added later such as for disposal of old tires. d) One new tire leaked air after installation. One new tire was not seated properly on the rim and it leaked air, causing it to partially deflate over four hours after I left the business. I returned the vehicle to Mavis Discount Tire for follow-up service. e) Two tires did not have caps on the valve stems. After the tire was seated properly on the rim, the new tire held its air, but two tires had the air stem caps removed. When I asked the staff to place caps on the valve stems of two tires, they did it. f) Wrong account information affected follow-up tire service. When I got my tire lug nuts torque checked at another Mavis Discount Tire store, the staff at the other Mavis were hesitant to do the work because my name did not match the name on the vehicle for their computer records for the vehicle. The second shop later complied with the lug nuts torque check after checking with the manager. I returned to the Mavis Discount Tire in Raritan where I purchased the tires to update my account information to make sure my account has the proper details.

  Yesterday I popped a tire on Route 78. I am from down the shore (near Asbury Park) and have never been on 78 before, what an experience that was! Sitting on the side of that highway was intimidating to say the least. I know how to put on a spare, but have seen too many dash cam videos of cars on sides of busy highways getting hit by inattentive drivers, to try to pull a stunt like that without some kind of "blocking vehicle." I stood on a snowy embankment for 1.5 hours waiting for AAA, (I was too chicken to sit in my car as I waited, so I opted to freeze than roll the dice and be a sitting duck in my truck) only to discover that my spare was flat too. Talk about insult to injury. AAA towed me to the Raritan Mavis and the guys there saw how frustrated and embarrassed I was to need service on 2 flats! I was already 2 hours late for an appointment and they crew really took care of me. Not only did they plug my tire, they fixed up my spare for me too, no charge! Maybe it is because I have been a loyal customer of Mavis for years that they took care of me this way, or the fact that I was in the week prior with another nail in a different tire (I did pay for that repair), or the sad look on my face as I explained my predicament, either way, it made my day a little better after being treated so well by the team. Sometimes it is a small act of kindness like being treated so decently that can really change the trajectory of your day. Thanks again to all the guys who got me back on the road! I appreciate you all.
