Mavis Discount Tire in Point Pleasant provides dependable, straightforward service. The staff is polite and helpful without being pushy, and they take the time to explain what your car needs. The work is usually done within a reasonable timeframe, and the prices feel fair for the area. It’s a practical, no-nonsense place to go for tires, inspections, or basic maintenance, and I’ve found the experience consistently smooth and easy.

Came here with a Mavis brand Highway Touring A/S tire that had catastrophic failure (tread separation) with maybe 10,000 miles on the tire. Shop didn't offer anything outside of changing tire and paying the difference. Had to pay $180 to replace a Mavis brand tire that failed on us. Also told them to check the other tire (we had 2), and this shop said it was fine. I pulled the tire off the car a couple weeks later and saw the exact same issue happening (tread seperation) on the other Mavis tire. I called Mavis's corporate office about this, and have heard nothing.

I recently visited The Mavis in Point Pleasant, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to great service. The atmosphere is relaxed yet thoughtfully maintained, making it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the team went out of their way to ensure guests felt taken care of. Apologies for this as this review might be a bit rambling and long. I brought my car here this past Sunday, a few hours before they closed due to getting a flat tire while at work. I was stressing out badly about it because I just had 2 flat tires on different tires recently and then just got a 3rd and was not prepared to have to get another tire fixed. Chris, John, and Frankie are the 3 gentleman that helped me while I was there and let me say they were truly SO kind, so helpful, so nice. I walked into their Mavis a hot mess, stressed out because I had yet another flat and the patience and kindness that Chris had while speaking to me without trying to sell me something or swindle me truly was such a relief. He was wonderful. Often times, mechanics will try to swindle people or make a quick sale because I know nothing about cars. Im extremely grateful I decided to bring my car here and for all 3 of their help that day.

If it were strictly reviewing when it comes to oil, I would give them negative stars. But seeing as they have successfully done brakes and rotors, I'll give them a two. I'm always weary about taking my European BMW to these franchises for good reason and now my fears are totally warranted. I go in for a simple oil change like times past, and for whatever reason I'm getting the message on my iDrive system about low oil pressure and to immediately stop driving. Since I obviously am very knowledgeable about BMWs and lots of cars in general, I assume this had everything to do with the oil change itself and that the code would eventually clear. I used my fox well and it did. However, it would show up yet again. Whomever did my oil change completely forgot to replace the little valve piece that you put on the filter, which caused this to happen. Understanding oil change 101 would have prevented so many different problems, and not to mention on warranted stress, on my part. Luckily, I went to a train BMW mechanic and he was able to do it for me. I will be asking for a refund for this service as it was not performed properly.
