Today I had to take my car to Mavis and I made a call out to see if they could fit me in, and I spoke to Lyn and let her know my brakes where bad and the first thing she said to me was " oh bring your car in right away I want to make sure your safe" I really appreciate that from her because no mechanic has ever said that to me. So I really appreciate that! The mechanics do a great job as well! I do like having my car serviced there they do amazing.

Reliable and trustworthy shop. They do excellent work and are very efficient without cutting corners. We’ve been bringing our vehicles here for years and have never felt pressured to buy anything or have unnecessary work done. Travis, who I believe is the service manager, is competent, friendly, and makes for a great experience. Highly recommend.

I’m writing this review because I genuinely think there’s room for improvement here, especially around communication and customer service. I brought my car in at 10:00 AM this morning and was told the service would take about an hour to an hour and a half. I was also told no appointment was needed, just that there were a few people ahead of me. That was fine. I planned accordingly — we had tickets to an event later in the day and needed to leave by 1:30 PM. My husband arrived to pick up the car around 1:00 PM, only to find that the work was just getting started. When I called to ask for an update and spoke to the supervisor, Faith, I explained why the timing mattered. I fully admit I was frustrated and my tone wasn’t the best — I own that. However, instead of trying to problem solve or simply acknowledge the inconvenience, I was met with defensiveness. I was told the employee who originally helped me was new, and then the situation was shifted toward being my misunderstanding. What made things go sideways fast was when I was told to “take it up with my husband since he had no problem with it” — which, respectfully, is not how you handle a customer concern. That comment shut down any chance at resolving the issue professionally. If the estimated time was going to be much longer than promised, a phone call would have gone a long way. Three hours is not the same as an hour and a half — especially when someone plans around the time you’re given. My intention isn’t to paint the whole store or staff as bad. Mistakes happen. New employees need time to learn, in fact Henry was phenomenal and was super respectful and communicated beautifully (He’s the New Hire). Things run behind. I get that. But when mistakes happen, communication matters, and that’s where this situation completely fell apart. We ended up missing a time-sensitive event, and that hurt — financially and personally. I’m sharing this so management can address the communication gap and give support to employees (including supervisors) on how to navigate customer frustration without escalating it. A simple acknowledgment and honest update would have prevented all of this.

I had a rough morning when I had to dodge a paint truck merging into my lane around 5am, which ended up busting my tire. The wait for a tow was six hours, so I had to call out of work and was pretty frustrated. Normally, I avoid Mavis because of a bad experience, but Henry and Rob at the Phillipsburg location were incredibly helpful. When I arrived, they greeted me with smiles and apologized for my tough day, which really helped. I was told I’d have to wait an extra two hours, but I ended up waiting less than an hour. The next day, I went back for an alignment, and Travis at the counter was super kind and efficient—I was out in 30 minutes. Those guys really turned a difficult situation into a much better experience.
