I then again approached the same clerk, and told him, I cannot find the bar oil. He replied, “Oh, we don’t sell that.” As a clerk, especially taking orders from customers, it is expected for them to pay attention when a customer speaks to them. Obviously, this was not the case.

I am well within the replacement period but he tells me I need to go to the store I purchased it from. Went to a different advance auto and they replaced it right away. Seems like the manager may have has his own bias, unsure but super unhelpful and unfriendly. Most of all unprofessional for not offering any help or guidance. From now on I am only purchasing from a different auto part franchise, advance has lost my business.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
