The car was what I needed and worked fine. (Should go without saying, but doesn't all the time.) The price was reasonable. (I don't know if it was the lowest available, but it was not sticker shock sort of high by any means.)
Those are things that JUST SHOULD HAPPEN, but don't always. The thing that set this experience apart was the coordination with related businesses for the convenience of the customer.
-- I was picked up by Enterprise from the repair shop where I left my damaged car.
-- I left the rental car, two weeks later, with the auto dealership where I drove off in a new car. The dealership has a relationship with a nearby Enterprise so it will be picked up from the dealer. BTW, it was not the same Enterprise location where I picked the car up, but Enterprise figured out how to handle it; I didn't have to.
The next day, Enterprise phoned me. I was afraid it was to clear up some loose end, because everything went so easily for me -- minimal red tape. But no, it was to solicit feedback on how the experience went. Hey, guys, it went beautifully.
