- MKMax kNov 16, 20255.0I stopped by Mavis today in Oakland, didn’t have an appointment, was greeted with enthusiasm by Rich and Edwin and felt immediately at ease. Rich walked out to my car and explained with great knowledge and advise that I needed at least 2 tires and possibly more, which I figured as much. Agreed on a great price and approved the work. Rich called me an hour later and explained that I needed 1 more tire and rear brakes, which i absolutely will be back for next month. I can’t thank Rich enough for the customer service and knowledge he presented to me. Great job! Will be returning to Oakland Mavis for my brakes and any other maintenance repairs needed.

I purchased a tire online for one price and they took my car in changed the tire and gave me a bill for a much higher price. If I would have known about all of the added fees I would not have purchased my tire from Mavis. NJ law requires that any added parts or extra work be discussed before starting the job under The Consumer Fraud Act this location does not comply with that.

The chairs were full so I went next door to the diner. He called when they were finished. He was personable. He showed me the nail that was in the tire. Which they patched up. Reported to Oakland Mavis at 8:45 shop opens at 9:00 on Sundays. Relayed information to front desk,10:15 car was not moved no service reminded service desk of my car appointment,11:15 car still has not moved retrieved my key and canceled the appointment. Don't know if it's a Amazon, thing a Sunday thing or just overbooked scheduling. Rapid response after rating to try to rectify, thank you but job was completed.
