I had an issue with my rental at the Newark Airport Sixt location, and Luis Almanzar, the Senior Branch Manager, went above and beyond to help resolve it. He was incredibly understanding, patient, and professional throughout the entire process. His calm approach and commitment to great customer service truly made a stressful situation so much easier.

I rented a car from Sixt out of Newark, NJ and originally was told it was going to be a Lincoln Navigator. They ended up giving me a bmw X7 which is fine but not what i wanted.
They sold me on a $140 insurance coverage to “cover any damages that may occur” which was a complete lie. A rock was kicked up in traffic and chipped the windshield of the car. I called to make a claim for it because i knew i had the insurance coverage for it. I was told i would not be covered and if i went and fixed it myself they would just go ahead and change it again and charge me for a completely new windshield even if i fixed it myself.
They ended up charging me almost $1,400 for a repair which they couldn't provide me with any invoice to prove. Will not be using them any longer and would not recommend them to anybody. Better off using Turo.

This is a company run by frauds and cheaters. I rented from them in Los Angeles and had a minor accident. They charged ridiculous repair fees so high that my insurance company wouldn't cover them. They were sued in a class action suit and lost. I received $182 in compensation, far less than I paid out. But I'm at least glad that they were punished. Don't rent from these corrupt fools.

I returned the rental car on Saturday (October 25th) at 6:00 a.m. I accidentally left a small shopping bag in the glove box and submitted a lost item request today. However, I received a reply just 20 minutes after submitting the lost item request from Rose Fiona, the General Manager of SIXT Newark Int'l airport. She said we were unable to find your lost item.
I’m not sure where the rental car I used is currently located, but I have doubts that the glove box was actually checked before they told me it couldn’t be found. It’s possible that the car has already been rented out again, but I feel it’s very insincere to simply say they couldn’t find it without confirming properly.
I would appreciate it if they could explain why the item can’t be found and check the glove box of the specific car, I used by tracking the vehicle. It’s disappointing that they just said it was not found without making that effort.
The item is very important to me, and although it was my mistake to leave it behind, I would be deeply grateful if they could check the car again and let me know once it is returned. I sincerely hope it can be found, but if not, I understand. Still, I kindly ask that they recheck the vehicle after the current renter returns it and update me on the situation.

Absolut furchtbare Erfahrung mit Sixt.
Angefangen bei der Reservierung für einen Luxury SUV für welchen mir ein Mercedes GLC angeboten wurde, statt wie bei Alamo üblich ein GMX Yukon XL, über die Tatsache, dass man für den EZ-Pass eine Verleihgebühr zahlen muss und das Gerät nicht standardmäßig im Fahrzeug ist.
All das mögen Eigenheiten von Sixt sein, aber in Angesicht der Tatsache, dass es sich um den günstigsten Anbieter handelte, kann man darüber noch hinweg sehen.
Sollte man allerdings Probleme haben, ist man absolut hilflos angesichts der absolut geringen Filialdichte.
Bei dem ersten Fahrzeug haben wir einen platten Reifen.
Roadside Assistance sagte uns wir sollen einfach zur nächsten Werkstatt fahren und das Ersatzrad aufbringen lassen. Ohne Termin keine Chance!
Warum kümmert sich die Hotline nicht um einen Termin?
Letztendlich waren wir in der Lage den Reifen zu wechseln und mussten für einen Fahrzeugtausch noch 500 Meilen fahren, da es keine andere Sixt Filiale in der Nähe gab! Höchstgeschwindigkeit 50mph...
Als zweites Fahrzeug sollte unsere gebuchte Klasse plötzlich 25$/Tag kosten. Warum?
Wir akzeptieren also ein Downgrade nur um festzustellen, dass die Lenkachse einen gravierenden Schaden hatte.
Ein lautes Tak-Tak-Geräusch begleitete uns nun.
Ich informierte wieder Roadside, welche wieder sagten wir sollen einfach zur nächsten Werkstatt fahren. Am Wochenende waren aber alle geschlossen.
Sie schickten uns zum nächsten Walmart Car service, welche so ein Problem natürlich nicht lösen könnten.
Ich rief wieder an und sagte, dass wir zu unserem Hotel fahren und wirt dort ein neues Fahrzeug benötigen.
Die Hotline sagte mir es ginge nur zur aktuellen Adresse und wir sollen uns am Hotel wieder melden.
Als wir am Hotel ankamen, sagte mir die Hotline sie könnte jetzt am Abend keinen Dienstleister mehr beauftragen und das Fahrzeug würde am nächsten Nachmittag aus 200 Meilen Entfernung zugestellt werden.
Ich sagte es sei unakzeptabel wegen Terminen, also beauftragten sie einen Dienstleister welcher das Fahrzeug bis zum morgen zustellen sollte.
Bis jetzt nach über 12 Stunden wurde immer noch kein neues Fahrzeug zum Abschleppdienst übergeben und es wird noch mindestens 5 Stunden dauern bis es hier ist.
Eine absolute Katastrophe und dies wäre bei Alamo so nicht passiert, da diese alle 50 Meilen eine Filiale zum Tauschen haben.
Davon abgesehen, dass man dort nicht einfach einen Schlüssel in die Hand bekommt sondern man sich das Fahrzeug selbst aussuchen kann.
Ich frage mich auch in welchem Zustand sich die Fahrzeuge befinden, wenn ich zweimal in einer Woche mit zwei Fahrzeugen solche Probleme habe.
Das Wischwasser beim ersten Fahrzeug war natürlich auch komplett leer.
Ich kann nur dringend davon abraten hier ein Fahrzeug zu mieten sondern lieber zu Alamo zu gehen, auch wenn es teurer ist.
Roadside Assistance verspricht zurückzurufen, hält sich aber nicht daran.
Selbst der Supervisier hat keinen Rückruf getätigt.
