Decided to give this place a chance based on the positive reviews. Keep in mind I've worked on vehicles for roughly 2 decades. I have everything at home besides a tire machine so I was dropping off 4 wheels and new tires for mount and balance. All went smoothly until they saw they were "aftermarket" wheels. Keep in mind these were sized matched for the factory wheels, but a different brand (so same wheel dimensions and very close tire dimensions). They were not some kind of 3-piece or reverse mount wheel, but just a simple one-piece 5 spoke. I was then told they don't do aftermarket wheels anymore and if I was willing to wait a day they might have a guy that can do them, but they'd rather not try. I have worked in shops and mounted everything from factory wheels to Vossens. If you have properly trained technicians then there should be no issue. I cannot understand the argument here either. You won't do "aftermarket" wheels for a Japanese vehicle, but you would do factory wheels for a BMW or other luxury vehicle? I ended up going next door to their competitor and they were just as confused as I was when they saw the wheels. So if you have aftermarket wheels on your car you may want to avoid the trouble altogether.

I went to the Mavis in Great Neck for a mix of services — tires, alignment, oil change, battery, and some general repair work — and overall it was a solid experience. Andrew was the one who helped me, and he was straightforward and easy to deal with. He explained what actually needed to be done without pushing anything unnecessary. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time, and the car drove noticeably better afterward, especially after the alignment. Pricing felt fair for the amount of work that was done, which I appreciated since car repairs can add up fast.

I just had my vehicle towed to this Mavis location last night to replace a blown-out tire (I also highly recommend either Xtreme Roadside Assistance and Towing in Blackwood, NJ, or Anthony from ATM Towing in Pine Hill, NJ, if you ever find yourself in a bind). They didn't have my tire in stock, but they recommended going to either the Firestone next door or the Pep Boys across the street, and they were willing to put the tire on for us for free, anyway! Staff was super helpful and friendly! (Their "WE GOT IT! WE GOT THE TIRE!" celebration thing in the garage made me laugh, too). Really appreciate you guys! Thank you so much!
