  The work performed was satisfactory, and it is appreciated that premium parts were used. The repair appears to have been completed properly, and the job was handled as expected. The shop did call before the repair and advised that the control arm repair would be around $1,400, so the repair was approved based on the total estimate. However, after reviewing the itemized invoice, the breakdown was surprising. The expectation was that labor would be the major cost, but the parts pricing ended up being the biggest concern. Both control arms were billed at $643.96 each, for a total of $1,287.92 in parts for those two items alone. The same premium parts appear to retail for about $291 each, or roughly $582 total, which works out to about a 121% markup. Shop markup for sourcing, overhead, warranty responsibility, and use of premium parts is understandable. However, more than doubling the price of already expensive premium parts feels excessive. A $125 discount was applied, which was appreciated. Even with that discount, the final bill came to $1,723.07. Since the work was already paid for and completed, this is not a dispute of the repair itself. The repair was completed properly, but a clearer explanation of the parts-versus-labor breakdown before approval would have made the experience feel more transparent and fair.

  On our way from VA to the shore, out tire began to leak. It was right before 5 pm when we contacted Mavis Discount Tire. Mo answered the phone and told us that they were closing but made an appointment for us. Mo, Matt and Tom quickly assessed the problem which was a screw in the tire. They removed the screw and plugged the tire while we waited. It took no more than 5 minutes and we were on our way. The staff was kind, courteous and professional. We would highly recommend Mavis Tire in Marmora.

  My tire pressure light came on, and with all of the road work and construction going on in my area, I was convinced I had a nail in one of the tires. They checked all four tires, gave me a clean bill of health, balanced the air pressure and didn’t charge me a penny. Now that’s good old-fashioned customer service! I’m paranoid about getting a flat tire, so it’s nice to know I have a trustworthy shop nearby.

  Mavis Tire saved the day!! On a weekend trip to Ocean City, NJ, I suddenly had a tire go almost flat. This was a brand new tire, so I knew it had to be a nail or something that had punched a hole. Unfortunately we needed to drive back to Pennsylvania on Sunday, and feared that no place would be open to help us to patch the hole. We found Mavis, and not only did they fix the problem in record time, but they kindly waived the charge!! It took them no time at all to find the screw that had made the hole, and were so generous to waive any fee. We love Mavis Tires!!

  I Noticed that the tire pressure in one tire was down to 17. I drove over to Mavis in Marmora. Matt was wonderful and very accommodating. There was a nail in my tire, it was repaired and I was in and out within a half hour. Very professional, friendly, and efficient.
