- JRJose L. RodriguezSep 10, 20251.0I needed to get a bulb for my Jetta, so I went to Advance Auto Parts like I usually do. Joe helped me find the right part, but neither of us noticed that the package was already open. I paid for it, went out to the parking lot to replace it, and then realized the package had been opened. I went back inside to see what could be done since I know their policy, but Joe didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation and didn’t offer any possible solutions. As the GM, he should know how to manage situations like this instead of taking it personally. I’m not saying “don’t shop at Advance Auto Parts,” but I definitely won’t be taking my business there again. Joe, I wasn’t trying to take anything from you—I just wanted to see if I had any options. You really need to work on your people skills.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
