I was so appreciative when mechanic 'discovered' a metal shard in my tire and added ~$35 cost to plug&rebalance saving me a future blowout. Told me it could be a piece of "metal fence". When removed and took the time to show me item, it was obviously a sheered deck-nail with pointy head in tact. Just in conversation I commented that it is clearly a sheared off long-nail. But by continuing to man-splain that it could be a "metal fence" which became non-sensical after seeing obvious nail head I had to wonder why his need to continue, which exhibits dishonesty. And the oil change I went for depicts very dark oil on my dipstick 2 days later. When shown to them, immediately explained to me without looking at the computer it was because I waited too long to change the oil and it was residual from the engine. Maybe, but 2 days later having remembered my personal oily story in passing conversation does not sit well. Just questionable. Protective suggestions to Fellow Consumers: (A) always check your dipstick in the mechanic's parking lot after oil change done and inquire about dark oil before extensive driving. Its easy. (B) alternate between 2 preferred unrelated mechanics to avoid false claims of dark residual oil (C) be wary of any pattern "mid-work- discovery" of metal-fences in tires from this location and try to check all 4 tires b4 engaging in unrelated work
