- GEGlenn EsherJan 11, 20265.0Super helpful employee, Ryan, on a sleepy Sunday morning. I witnessed the staffer being very helpful and patient with an older woman who did not know all the exact details of her vehicle and the staffer suggested what was and was not not an important distinction for the battery that she was about to buy. He went through (and over) all the options, without pushing any particular one. I feel that customer went away happy and well served. I was also well served, offered a stock check for options of the product I was purchasing (other than what was on the shelf) and sent away with a sincere "good day", which I have come to NOT expect from retail staff of a certain age. Somebody trained this guy really well (family or management). He should be commended.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
