- CCchevy chaseApr 20, 20265.0I just left the store. I purchased a thermostat and coolant. I walked in and was met by a female representative behind the counter (Debbi?) who greeted me and asked how she can help me. I asked for the part that I was looking for. After inputting the vehicle's info into the computer, she went to grab the part and promptly returned to the counter. Took maybe a minute. In the meantime, I grabbed the coolant which was conveniently located nearby. The phone rang and she handled the call while processing ny transaction. Nobody was put on hold, not me and not the woman who called. She answered her questions while handling business at the store. I appreciate her attention, the expeditive nature of her service, and her ability to multi task with such efficiency. This is my first time at this store and this experience leads me to believe that it won't be my last time. Thank her for her great customer service and thank Advance Auto Parts for having such a competent employee available to handle customers with such expertise and ease.

- JDJa DskMar 5, 20261.0Placed an order online for two 5- gallon pails of motor oil. I chose the curb side pick up otw to the store. Called up store to confirm as per email pick up instructions. Lady store clerk rudely stated curb side pick up was no longer available since Covid. Went into the store, order was ready and again, store clerk was rude and said I could always use the cart to get my items into my car. Could have been better..

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?
A traditional lead/acid car battery can range between $60-$120. The difference in cost comes from a variety of things, like the size of the vehicle or any special requirements needed from the battery, i.e. an increased resistant to cold or hot climates. HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
