  I came here for an oil change sure in fact didn’t take 15 minutes then when the total came it was far more than had planned the guy changing my oil asked if I wanted to replace my air filter & said the price but talked so quiet & muffled I couldn’t hear him & hear a completely different total so It ended in a totally different idea on the total

  I have been a Jiffy Lube customer for over 20 years. I often do my own oil changes at home but also go to Jiffy Lube for oil changes and other services, such as differential/transfer case fluid changes, etc. Yesterday, I visited the Jiffy Lube location in North Hampton, NH. I arrived at the location at exactly 2:30 pm. There was one other vehicle/customer at the location when I arrived. There were 2 staff in the bays, and I assume there was at least one staff in the pit. I requested an oil change, and had my own oil that I requested they use. I went inside the store and took a seat with the other customer. Long story short, I sat and waited 1 hour and 47 minutes for my oil change to be completed. I can change the oil in my garage, without a pit or lift, in under 30 minutes. I cannot fathom what could have possibly taken nearly 2 hours to change the oil in my vehicle. At no point did anyone say anything about how long it was taking or why. The other cusotmer and I spoke during this insanely long delay about how long we were waiting, and I think it is safe to say he was also shocked. When my car was finally completed, the staff member came inside and rang up my service - $59.99 for a conventional oil change (full price) even though I provided my own oil. Ok, so no discount for providing your own oil even though Valvoline and Grease Monkey both give a discount comes across bad, but I'll just remember that next time. I pull out my credit card and prepare to put it in the machine. At that point, the staff told me their machine was down and I had to pay in cash. There was no sign anywhere in the sore, and at no point did anyone mention that I had to pay in cash. I was told I needed to go across the street and get cash to pay for the service. There was a bank across the street so I went over to get the $60 cash to pay for my service. The bank charged me $3.50 to get cash, and my bank charged me another $2.50 to get cash from a different bank. So in the end, my oil change that should have cost $59.99 with the oil you provide, cost me $59.99 plus bank charges of $6, plus the oil I provided was $31.99 (and I chose to bring my own oil so I won't complain about this even though every one of their competitors gives a discount), and 2 hours of my time. Never at any point did any employee of this store apologize - not for taking 2 hours of my time for "Jiffy" service, for making me go get cash because your machine didn't work and you didn't notify me of that, or for making me pay bank fees to get cash because their machines didnt work. Grease Money in Exeter, Valvoline in Portsmouth, or likely any other quick service center in America can provide a better experience. If it is an absolute emergency, like your oil light comes on right in front of this location, go to the Midas that is right next door in the same building. Avoid this shop at any and all cost. It is absolutely horrible.
