All I asked for was a caliper and he started screaming at me that they dont sell the bracket, but I kept repeating myself that I want the whole caliper assembly. He just wasn't getting it. If you go into this store, youll know exactly who I'm talking about

While the part was not in stock, the guys at the shop jumped through some hoops to ensure it was at the store first thing Friday morning. Sure enough, they opened right at 7:30 and I was able to buy the item I needed. They helped me pick and rent the correct tools for the job and were excellent representatives of Advance Auto. Best customer service I’ve had at an auto parts shop. I believe I was helped by Brian and Reggie, but everyone in the shop had the same attitude.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
