They had a Defender V8 sitting on the lot for over a year, and when I made what I believed to be a more than fair offer, they rejected it—over a $4,000 difference. In the end, I purchased the same vehicle brand new out of state for significantly less. When it came time for service on my Defender, I hoped to bring it back here, but the quoted price was exorbitant—$840 for routine maintenance. By contrast, a Land Rover dealer in Boston was running service specials and performed the same work for $370. While I can’t always drive back to Pennsylvania for service, I also can’t justify such a dramatic local price difference. My advice: shop around. Goodwin has a good team and a solid dealership, but I hope they reconsider both their pricing model and approach to financial management so customers don’t feel pushed away.
