I just had it installed and had a great experience with the installers at Mr. Tint but the experience with intoxalock has gone downhill fast. My representative was very helpful and seemed very honest. I told her I was comparing prices and looking at reviews of all rhe companies. U told her exactly what others were charging and she explained their fees and even emailed me what she told me. I went with them because with most things seeming equal, I was assured they didnt have any of the one time start up fees and they were giving me a 100 dollar rebate at install to cover most of my first month. As the device was almost finished being installed I get an email from intoxalock with their contract. There was a one time fee included which I was assured there wasn't as well as other fees I was told there was none if. Once your device is being installed you can no longer call your sales rep or talk to them at all. The call goes to the call center where they barely speak English. I explained the situation for 10 minutes and the guy told me there was nothing he could do. Finally he transferred me to a supervisor but I waited on hold for 25 minutes before hanging up. I was able to call other numbers until I got someone who said they were going to escalate it to sakes and ill here something in 24 to 48 hours. Problem is im not signing the contract with fees i was told I wouldnt have and without the 100 rebate. I have all the fees and prices in writing as well as tge rebate being put towards my account at time of install. Now they are saying I have to fill out a rebate form before I can get it. If you dont sign the contract they wont fix lockout or any issues so if my new machine malfunctions before they get back to me im pretty much screwed. I already regret my choice. My main issue is with what seems like a bait and switch. Very nice at first then once they have you good luck.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
