Jacob the manager was awesome! He was more than helpful on the phone to get me scheduled next day. Diagnostic was honest and informative. I’ll be back here based on my experience. Thanks!

So Brakes plus had been a long time go to for my family & I. Until recently. The management has changed and the new manager Jacob has nothing besides money on the brain. I took my daughter's car in for an oil change in February and Jacob came out with a cabin air filter told me I needed a new one in the car began to open the pleats in the filter showing me the dirty parts. I advised him no thank you I will put it in on my own. So I go to Advanced Auto right next door while they finish up with the car & get the cabin air filter. I head home & change the filter. To my surprise the filter Jacob showed me and the filter I removed from the vehicle were 100% different. I was so disappointed. We had previously taken our Volvo in December for not taking a charge and to put a battery in and turned out to be a almost $1,300 alternator... Took his word for it. Now in March, our same Volvo while traveling on the interstate loses speed and we tow it to a local shop with the issues with Brakes Plus not wanting to take it back knowing now that they deceive people. The local mechanic could not get a diagnosis and said since Brakes did your alternator take it back there because there were codes with alternator issues. We tow it to Brakes & give them the run down of what happened. Jacob calls the next day and says "there is nothing my tech found wrong with the alternator, I will need to charge a $99 diagnostic fee to find out what is wrong with it" I agreed. He calls back and says the fuel pump is the issue. Quotes me almost $2,400. I said no- I will have it towed home and figure it out. Well, turns out the issue was the charge pipe coming from the intercooler from the turbo going into the throttle body was disconnected. NOT the fuel pump. This pipe is right next to the alternator had they actually inspected the alternator as they said they did they would have seen the fact when they installed the alternator they failed to secure the pipe. I have never been so disappointed with people as I have with Brakes Plus. It used to be a place where a female could come to and know they are not going to be swindled and overcharged, but no longer. I will now be moving to a different shop who cares more about the human walking through their door vs making an upsell.

So I won’t be coming back..! Thought everything was peachy when we were getting checked in. Sat down for about hour and a half. Took in two vehicles to get oil change picked the package with 50% off of the tire rotation included. So this would be about 47$ each. One needed an air filter change and the other they tried to upsell for other things we had done not long ago. Long story short math didn’t math and I’m in sales for a living but just to keep it short watch the charges here a pay attention. Will go back to our old place next time.

I bought a Certified Pre-Owned car from a local dealership a few months ago. Recently, I started noticing intermittent squeaking when braking. I contacted the dealership, and they confirmed that the rear brakes had been replaced and the rotors turned prior to sale. The front brakes were measured at nearly new (8mm).
At a friend’s suggestion, I took the car to Brakes Plus for a second opinion. They performed a free inspection but recommended nearly $1,200 in services, including new rear brakes, rotors (claiming pitting and warping), brake fluid service, alignment, coolant exchange, and tie rod replacement due to leaking grease. When I mentioned the dealership’s recent work, they strongly implied the dealership was dishonest and “just trying to sell a car,” noting that the brake work wasn’t on Carfax.
I returned to the dealership with Brakes Plus’s estimate. They re-inspected the vehicle and found that only the tie rods showed minor leaking that should eventually be addressed. The squeaking was simply due to dry contact points on the pads that needed regreasing. They confirmed there was no warping or pitting on the rotors and showed me the original service receipts proving the rear brake work had been completed. They also explained that not all service work gets reported to Carfax.
I was very disappointed by Brakes Plus’s apparent attempt to upsell unnecessary services and question the dealership’s honesty. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Brakes Plus and will not be returning.
