I was charged over $1,400 due to a damage claim filed against me, despite having the vehicle for less than 48 hours. The car's usage was limited to driving from the airport to a remote parking spot at a resort and back to the airport. My primary mistake was not taking detailed photographs of the car before driving it off the lot. I strongly encourage anyone renting from the Enterprise/National location in Fargo, North Dakota, to thoroughly document the vehicle's condition before departure. I believe this company's practice is to pressure renters into purchasing their expensive insurance. If you decline, they seem prepared to invent an "accident" and aggressively pursue a claim through your private insurance. To compound this issue, the company sent the claim notification to an incorrect address. As a result, I have now been contacted by a collection agency, further increasing my distress. In all my years of renting vehicles, I have never endured this kind of treatment. When I returned, there was one very small issue with the car that I was not worried about, but just shared so that they would know and the attendant on my return gave me a discount for athe very minor inconvenience without me asking.
