  Great experience at Jiffy Lube on Stratford Road today. Great customer service, told me everything I needed to know. Also, got my Oil Change finshed in good timing.

  I came here to get an oil change and my brakes looked at. While being checked in the guy talked so fast and didn't ever seem to acknowledge me or my questions. As well, they apparently removed my cabin and engine air filters and he just put them on the counter in front of me and went on a whole spiel about how I need to change them. He kept changing up how the numbers sounded, but it was genuine crazy talk. So, the deal they are running is this: 10$ off an air filter change. But he was saying stuff like, "if you get two I can take 20$ off this one (pointing to the cabin air filter)" or "if you just get this one, it's 40quot;, which disregarded the 10$ special. It was so obtuse and needless, and he gave about 10 different variations on that speech in 5 minutes. All this while jamming his fingers into the air filters and creating dents and wrinkles in what was otherwise fine condition filters. As well, I sincerely don't like that they are just disassembling my car without asking first. The fact that I pull in and their first thought is "let me just yank parts out this guy's car and put it in front of him" felt like a scene out of The Godfather. I did end up getting the cabin air filter replaced, since he very much tore it apart while explaining why I should change them, but when I got back in my car, the entire glove compartment was on the floor. Pic very much related. I don't think it's permanently busted(?), but what kind of service is that? And you see that screwdriver? That's theirs.. I didn't even realize until I got home that they just left it. At the end, when I'm being rung up for everything, there were 3 different specials/coupons I wanted applied, and it was like pulling teeth. He kept adding and removing them about 4 different times until finally we got them all applied. At first there was only 1 applied, he then removed that one and added the other one I wanted . Finally, after a few back and forths, I got two applied. BUT, to get the third applied, he had to remove one of the other ones and so on and so forth until we got all three applied. I genuinely don't understand what he was doing, but it created no sense of trust. It was mentally exhausting. As well, he never kept the actual itemized list of services up for more than a second. I asked him to slow down and he said we'd get it all covered at the end. At the very end, he did the same thing and I had to get him to go back and tell me what was actually going on. And then I see on the final receipt that I need to come back in within 100 miles to get my lug nuts retorqued??? What is going on with that? I have no idea. When he told me about their brake inspection results, I had already lost all faith in their entire operation, and he was so shifty I just ignored everything he said. He could be right, he could be wrong, but either way I don't think he is weighing his words against reality. He could have told me the sky was blue and I still wouldn't trust him. To top off this glorious experience, the same guy nearly got into a brawl with another customer. Apparently the customer had been waiting an hour for an oil change, and only after that wait was told that they didn't have his car's oil filter. And would need to pony up like another 100$ and wait another hour. Loud words were exchanged, and it ended with the guy telling him to get his car out of the bay. Super bad experience that took an hour from beginning to end. I suppose if you're coming in for an oil change, it might work, but you have to say no 50 times to everything they're selling, and explicitly tell them not to take the air filters out of your car before they even get the car into the bay, because presumably their eyes grow green at the idea of taking air filters out of random people's cars. And all of this for an overpriced oil change anyway (86$).

  This (Stratford Road, Winston Salem NC), is the best Jiffy Lube location, hands down. Everyone is so friendly, courteous, and fast. One time I came here for what I thought was a simple coolant level check, and they noticed a very serious issue I wouldn't have noticed, and gave me essential and free advice about what to do next. Another time, I had a blown turn signal and they changed the bulb for me in a couple of minutes free of charge. Today, I got my state inspection done so quickly that I barely had time to get settled in the waiting room. This is always my first stop for car care. They treat you like family.
