I have used Enterprise for their proximity to my home address and the trust I have with the local facilities. I planned a trip for my 50th birthday many months ago. I called the Wilmington location several times to confirm required information for the rental and pickup as I live in California. This journey was a really big endeavor with many moving parts and critical time lines. My pickup was incredibly smooth and easy even though my flight was a very late arrival, around 10:45 PM, EST. The agent that assisted me was on point. From desk to keys, the entire process was less than 7 minutes. Extremely high praise to the ILM location and staff. A couple of days later during my birthday weekend, the rental car completely broke down. I was stranded on the side of a major highway. Here is where I hold fault, and I will keep it as brief as possible: I contacted the customer service provided on behalf of Enterprise immediately after complete vehicular failure. I was safe. I just was not where I was supposed to be. I work in hospitality management so I know very well how things can be, or should be. I spoke with 11 different agents over a FIVE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTE span for assistance and resolution. I have NEVER, in all my years of experience handled a customer, the way these random remote Enterprise representatives handled me. In closing, all was not entirely lost. It was a very challenging and surreal experience. The manager of the Wilmington location called me a few days after my return to California. I did not ask for anything. He asked to hear my story. I told him. He listened. He empathy and compassion. Jacob made the entire ordeal worth it. I am considerably grateful to Jacob for just hearing me out and doing what needed to be done. Thank you, Jacob.
