- ASAaron Smith2 days ago5.0I have just purchased a used car and I've been super big on making sure everything is working properly and I noticed my check engine light come on recently. Dominic has been more then Amazing helping me out with not only the Free check engine light check on 2 separate occasions but helping explain what the codes mean so I can have my mechanic properly work on the vehicle. He greeted me at the door both times as I walked in and remembered me the second time which I feel is over looked nowadays Dominic is one of the many reasons I choose to trust this Advance Auto parts with all my car needs and I highly recommend coming here if you need any help with your vehicle.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
