It took a long time and a lot of effort to get my spare parts returned, but they eventually made good. They went above and beyond in some areas and didn't do a good job in others. The TLDR version: I limped into Safe Harbor Outer Banks with one functional engine and I literally crashed while trying to dock because my steering went out. My boat was in a bad way and the marina was literally a safe harbor. I needed 2 new transmissions and a steering repair. I sourced the transmissions, paid and had them shipped to Safe Harbor. They reported that my props were damaged and needed replacing, so I authorized them to purchase and install 2 reconditioned props, but stated that I wanted the old props as spares. The final bill was high, but I was in a pinch and I know how marine repairs go, so I wasn't completely blown away. My big issue is that I requested my spare parts to be returned (2 transmission cores and 2 damaged props) when I picked up my boat. I was working with Rob. Rob assured me that he would ship them to me, so I didn't have to haul them back to Florida on the boat. I continued to text and call Rob for months after leaving Safe Harbor and I was always assured that he would get right on it and get those parts shipped to me. Eventually he stopped responding. I am left to assume that my parts were sold or the core charges for those parts were credited to Safe Harbor and didn't appear on my invoice as a credit. Either way, I can only conclude that I got ripped off. Updated: After contacting SHOB. at the email in their response below, I finally got my spares back. Changed 1 star to 4, as the rest of the experience was actually pretty good. The tiki bar had a decent food truck, the drinks were affordable and the live entertainment was fun. They also helped me out when I needed to shuffle my rental vehicle back to Enterprise, which is several miles away.
