- KWKobe WheelerJan 5, 20261.0In regards to purchasing a car battery that was fine. They tested it and it definitely needed to be replaced. What the low rating is for happened after that. After purchasing, the employee came out to replace it. A few minutes later he told me the terminal was "very corroded and needed to be replaced". They told me that was not something they could do there and I would need to take it somewhere else. Once an actual mechanic looked at it, it turns out there was nothing wrong with the terminal. The mechanic even said "I'm not sure why they said that - there's nothing wrong with it. The only reasons I can think of is they just did not know how to do it or they did not want to do it at all." So instead of a "free installation", I ended up paying extra service fees for seemingly no reason.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
