If you need help with your vehicle, look for Autumn and Chris—they are a powerhouse team! Autumn was incredible from start to finish. She was welcoming, highly knowledgeable, and lightning-fast when it came to looking up information and pulling parts. She was so helpful that I actually started to feel bad for how much she was doing, but she handled everything with a fantastic attitude and a genuine smile. When I asked if she liked the job, she told me she truly loves it, and that passion is evident in every interaction. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
