EDIT: I took my car to another mechanic, and Mr. Tire is even worse than I thought!
These people are DISHONEST and MONEY HUNGRY. I brought them my car back in August, it was spitting out gas anytime I tried to fill it up. According to them, I needed two parts replaced, the vapor canister and a purge solenoid, they charged me close to $1500. I get my car, all is well for a while. About 6 months later, my check engine light pops on, my car isn’t starting, so I bring it back to Mr. Tire. I had a fine experience before, so why not? Somehow, it is the exact same issue I was having 6 months ago! The same parts they had JUST REPLACED had gone bad. I remind them that they JUST REPLACED these parts. They tell me it might just be the vapor valve, which is part of the same system as the other two, but was not replaced the last time. They replace it, I pay another $500, I get my car. Today, the check engine light is back on and my car isn’t starting. They tell me that it must be those other two parts! Come to find out, because they did the job halfway, and didn’t fully replace the whole system at once (the vapor canister, purge solenoid AND vapor valve) the whole system has gone bad, because the one part wasn’t done. I point this out, and the kid on the phone tells me “We did the job we were paid to do.” YOUR JOB IS TO TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR THE FIRST TIME I BRING IT IN. YOUR JOB IS TO LET ME KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED SO I DON’T END UP WHERE I AM RIGHT NOW. They are refusing to fix what they broke, or even offer a discount. They say it is “out of warranty.” I would argue that when the damage done to my car is 10000% their fault, they should just fix it! But who am I. I recorded the calls, and I’m going to try to take legal action. I doubt there is anything that can be done, people get scammed by mechanics all the time and there usually isn’t anything anyone can do. But I’m sure going to try. This place is absolutely terrible!!! Do not give them your money!
EDIT: I took my car to a different mechanic, who, 1, told me that what the kid on the phone told me about the one part causing the other two to go bad makes no sense, and that is not how cars work. 2, the replaced COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PARTS on my car than the ones Mr. Tire was going to try to replace. My car is running like a dream, and it cost $300. Mr. Tire was going to charge me $1500 for parts that weren’t even the problem, I would have been leaving with a car that still didn’t work. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY SCAMMERS
